New President for Trelleborg Sealing Solutions

As of January 1, 2018, Peter Hahn is appointed new Business Area President of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions.
Peter Hahn, born in 1958, has dual U.S. and German citizenship and until taking on his new role was President Global Business Development including global head of the aerospace and automotive segments at Trelleborg Sealing Solutions.

A natural successor
“We are very satisfied to be able to promote Peter. With his extensive international experience, he is a natural successor to the role and will continue to successfully lead the development of the business area. At Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, but also within the Group, Peter has long spearheaded the prioritized areas of making it easy for customers to do business with us, digitalization and the development of new technologies,” says Peter Nilsson, President and CEO of Trelleborg.

SERVICES

SealScanTM now in Europe

Service PLUS from Trelleborg Sealing Solutions is a ‘total solution’ program that can simplify the workflow in every part of our customers’ value chains. Advanced Delivery, one of the building blocks of the program, bundles various services designed to simplify your stock replenishment process.

One of these services is SealScanTM, Trelleborg’s automated order replenishment service. The SealScanTM iOS app allows users to scan product bar codes to automatically generate orders for replenishment of stock, which will be delivered directly to the customer’s production line.

In addition to serving customers in the Americas, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions is now extending this offering to Europebased customers with the SealScanTM EU app.

The app works on most iOS devices and can manage various replenishment programs such as 2 Bin Kanban, Min/Max and Direct Line Feed.

Enhanced Composite Capabilities

As part of Trelleborg’s strategy to strengthen its positions in attractive market segments, the group has acquired U.S.-based privately-owned Automated Dynamics. The company specializes in the manufacturing of advanced composite components for particularly demanding applications. These composites are a strategic, adjacent technology for Trelleborg with high potential in multiple industries such as aerospace and chemical applications, and in the long run also for other markets.

On the announcement of the acquisition, Claus Barsøe, the then President of the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions business area, said: “I am thrilled to present this acquisition. The acquired company provides key capabilities in composites, bringing new competences to Trelleborg Sealing Solutions. We already see many opportunities for new products, applications and materials for the aerospace and oil & gas markets, and in the long-term also for other markets.

The acquired company’s expertise in automation of production of composite products is impressive and should be possible to leverage into other manufacturing facilities”

About Automated Dynamics The company is located in Niskayuna, New York. Sales amounted to approximately SEK 65 M in 2016.

SQIP Supplier Award for Trelleborg

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions is now one of the 79 suppliers in the prestigious Airbus SQIP (Supply Chain & Quality Improvement) Program. Together with the other 15 suppliers to Airbus, Paul Jones, Global Key Account Manager for Airbus at Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, received the award at a ceremony held in Toulouse, France. The SQIP Supplier Award recognizes Trelleborg's improvement of performance, as well as strong continuous improvement and a customer oriented approach in line with Airbus targets and expectations.
