Hydraulic Seals Catalog Updated with New Products and Information

One of the founding Trelleborg Sealing Solutions catalogs, the Hydraulic Seals catalog, has been updated with new products and information, giving the latest innovations and recommendations for hydraulic sealing.

Some older products have been removed and replaced with updated versions that further increase efficiency, performance and cost-effectiveness. The new products include Zurcon® Glyd Ring D, Turcon® Glyd Ring Hz, Turcon® Excluder S, 1 and 113, and Turcon® Variseal® M2S.

The catalog has also been refreshed with a new visual style, making it easier-to-use and more appealing than ever before.

MATERIAL UPDATE

New Polyurethane Materials Meet Future Standards

Boasting all the usual characteristics of Zurcon® polyurethane materials, such as toughness, rigidity, wear and scratch resistance, the new Zurcon® Z53 and Zurcon® Z54 materials offer enhanced performance.

Used for slipper seals and scrapers in the tough conditions faced in mobile, construction and mining applications, Zurcon® Z53 and Z54 conform with the latest EU REACH environmental standards coming in from November 2017 and meet requirements for higher operating temperatures.

Zurcon® Z53 and Z54 will supersede Zurcon® Z51 and Z52 as the materials of choice for slipper seals used in demanding fluid power linear and rotary applications, with the same performance and an increased operating temperature range.

Trelleborg Continues to Grow and Flourish

In Trelleborg’s Annual Report for 2016, Peter Nilsson, President and CEO of Trelleborg Group, says: “Structural and organic growth in combination with good operational control at a local level are important to us. But the 9-percent growth in sales in 2016 was primarily driven by acquisitions.”

US Capabilities Expanding Through Acquisitions

It’s been an exciting time in the U.S. as Trelleborg Sealing Solutions has expanded its capabilities through acquisitions.This is part of Trelleborg Group’s strategy to strengthen its positions in attractive market segments.

• September 2016 – Trelleborg Sealing Solutions El Segundo, Inc., California facility (f/k/a CoorsTek Ceramicon Designs, Ltd.
  Based in El Segundo, this California-based company was a leading manufacturer of high-precision seals and bearings produced from high performance polymers and metals for aerospace applications.
  
  Gregory Jones, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions General Manager, Aerospace Hub Americas (AHA), says: “We are excited because this acquisition provides our customers with an even wider product range that meet MS and SAE standards and further increases our U.S. market share.”

• January 2017 – Carolina Seal
  With an office and warehouse in Charlotte, North Carolina, this business specializes in the distribution of polymer eals such as O-Rings, hydraulic seals and specialty kitting. Its largest market segment was in transportation equipment, and primarily within the fast growing sub segment for transportation of chemicals.
