ITG: Describe your daily activities within Trelleborg and how they benefit the customer.

LC: My role at Trelleborg Sealing Solutions is to take care of customers at the Mexico marketing company. I am highly customer-focused, and each day I put my best efforts toward supplying quotes, following up inquiries and assisting customers with any special requests. Here at Trelleborg, we take pride in being a partner that you can rely on. Our customers can find comfort in the fact that we not only provide high quality products, but we also look forward to providing high quality service, before and after the sale.

ITG: How does your department help to fulfill our ‘Global but Local’ philosophy?

LC: Here at the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions marketing office in Mexico, we attempt to leverage Trelleborg’s global network to assist our local customers. We communicate with our global partners that here in Mexico we have a marketing company, manufacturing facility and a warehouse. There are people here with whom they can have a local and personal relationship. To benefit our local customers we are able to offer in-house engineering and vendor managed inventory, allowing shorter lead times. We want our customers in Mexico to recognize Trelleborg not only as a supplier but also a resident, full service provider that can take advantage of Trelleborg’s global network.

ITG: Do you interact with your colleagues globally to provide solutions for customers in different locations around the world?

LC: Yes, I recently had an opportunity to assist a local customer whose company does business with Trelleborg globally, to ensure consistent pricing across marketing companies. Our local customer wanted to receive a quotation on parts that their company also currently purchases in the United States. To provide consistent and accurate pricing across marketing companies, I collaborated with a colleague from our Midwest office in the US who currently quotes and supplies the same product. Our global customer really appreciated being able to receive consistent pricing across the different marketing companies, even though the transaction occurs in two separate countries.

ITG: How does open communication between marketing companies and colleagues benefit customers?

LC: It allows us to provide better service to our customers and contacts. At the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions marketing office in Mexico, we attempt to leverage Trelleborg's global network to assist our local customers. We communicate with our colleagues globally to make sure we provide the right solutions locally. I enjoy being able to provide my customers with a high level of service, and our open approach towards communications really helps facilitate the process.

ITG: What makes the city you work in unique?

LC: There are a growing number of manufacturing and engineering locations within and around Mexico City. This produces an innovative culture in the city and surrounding areas that can lead to new inventions and breakthroughs. It is very exciting to work in an area that serves as a core center of technology for Mexico.

ITG: Do you have any travel tips for readers who may visit your city?

LC: Mexico City hosts a wide variety of attractions for visitors. There are many great food options and unique local festivals, especially during the holiday seasons. The people in Mexico City are very open to folks from all around the world, creating a very welcoming environment. I personally like to enjoy Mexico City’s warm weather by spending time outdoors. Visiting Chapultepec Castle and taking boat rides on Lago de Xochimilco are two of my favorite sites because they display our rich culture and history.
