Coating gains international compliances for food and beverage processing

Worldwide seal developer and manufacturer, Busak+Shamban, has pioneered a number of special coatings for seals, to improve sealing performance. One of these, known as FF COATING, has gained
compliances, in addition to FDA, for use in food and beverage production.

Busak+Shamban is a leader in coatings technology for seals and has identified many formulations to enhance the performance of their seals. These coatings offer improved friction characteristics,
aiding automated assembly. For use in food and beverage processing, worldwide, the coating for seals must be compliant with the various international controlling bodies.

In addition to FDA compliance, FF coating has recently gained compliance with the standards of the German Federal Environmental Agency (FEA), valid for the area D2 (seals), making it suitable for use in most food, beverage and drinking water applications.

Used at a thickness between 2-10µ, FF coating is water based, solvent-free and transparent with an operating temperature of –40ºC to +150ºC. The coating does not affect the seal’s natural elasticity and the reduced friction provided by FF coating makes it ideal in automated assembly processes, where it helps stop seals sticking together or twisting in their housing. FF coated seals are suited for both static and low-level dynamic applications, with infrequent movement and short stroke rate.
