Operating from their Cadley, UK, research and manufacturing centre,Busak+Shamban aerospace sealing technicians have pioneered a rangeof fire seals in both single and twin-wall construction forapplication within the Trent (500, 700, 800) V2500, EFA, Nimrod andM346 aircraft platforms. In addition, the new range of sealsincludes a patented ‘split-seal’ option to facilitateretro-fitting, without the need to dismantle any part of theaircraft frame, presenting a highly economic fire seal upgradeproposition with all the improvements in operational safety plussignificant savings in installation costs.

Fire seals are required to conform to ISO 2685 performancestandards, namely, the ability to withstand flame temperatures of1100º C, for 15 minutes. The Busak+Shamban new range of fire sealsis compliant with international standards and, furthermore, testsprove a number of the new seals to be capable of withstanding thistemperature extreme for a period of 30 minutes!
