Early in 2010, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions began to selectively publicize its use of various social media platforms. One particular customer, a member of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) expressed interest in learning more, and from there, Trelleborg was invited to present its experiences at AEM's Customer Support Council Seminar this month.
AEM seminar attendees were interested to learn how Trelleborg has taken advantage of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube in order to make customer support materials easier to find and access, share relevent news and information and interact with customers, all while encouraging the use of the Trelleborg website.
The seminar was well-attended with over 100 people in the room during the discussion. Numerous participants followed up with direct questions so that they could replicate the same social media efforts. Gary Lehner, Sales Engineer, and Matt Flanagan, General Manager, from Trelleborg Sealing Solutions South have been asked to return for next year’s AEM meeting in order to offer an update on Trelleborg's social media customer support practices.AEM
