| Definition | Compression of the cross-section of an O-ring that causes deformation in the ring, creating an effective barrier to block the passage of the fluid between the mating surfaces; the direction of squeeze in static O-ring seals is both radial and axial, while the direction of squeeze in dynamic seals, due to their installation and movement, is almost only radial. |
