|Definition||1. To avoid losses in media, for example of oil, gas, air, acids, alkalis, etc.
2. To prevent mixing of different operating media, for example gear oil of the gearbox with the hydraulic fluid of the hydrodynamic clutch in modern motor vehicle gearboxes.
3. To prevent wear, for example as a consequence of faulty exclusion of dirt and dust.
