| Definition | Refers to degrees measured on the Fahrenheit temperature scale: the freezing point of water is 32 °F and the boiling point 212 °F. It was proposed in 1724 by Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit. It has been almost universally replaced by the Celsius scale but remains the official scale in the USA, Cayman Islands, and Belize. |
